About Us

Suburban Legend is a production company based in New Jersey with an emphasis on comedy, audience interaction and variety entertainment.

Our British Pantomimes

Following the success of Deadgood Events two sell-out ‘A Very British Pantomime’ shows held at the Burgdorff Performing Arts Center in Maplewood, NJ, the torch of British ‘Panto’ was passed onto Chrissy and Ridley McIntyre of Suburban Legend who have continued to write, produce and direct fully original shows in their new home town.
“We are very sad to lose our friends Liz and Gareth Jones of Deadgood but we felt the show must go on,” said Chrissy McIntyre one of the show producers. Kathleen Ash-Milby, the children’s director said, “I can’t imagine Maplewood without a panto now.”
In January 2015, Suburban Legend presented its first show ROBIN HOOD: A VERY BRITISH PANTOMIME which raised over $6,000 for local charities. Its second show, LAST CHANCE SALOON was also a smash hit. Its 2017 show, Gadzooks! A Very Arthurian Pantomime, dazzled audiences with songs, dances and jokes. January 2018 saw the debut of The Ghosts of Ghastly Manor, their biggest show ever.
Our next British Panto, slated for January 2019 will be the brand new space pantomime Jetpack Jones and the Prison Planet of Peril. Tickets are now on sale.

Co-Productions and Partnerships

We are proud to also work with other highly talented community-based groups in the area. In the summer of 2018, we joined forces with Rocket Improv to co-produce JERSEY ‘PROV – A Night of Improvisational Comedy in Maplewood, which featured 3 improv troupes from teens to adults all in one (mostly) family-friendly, hilarious evening. It was so much fun, in fact, that we decided to do it again! On December 7th 2018, JERSEY ‘PROV II: This Time It’s Personal graced the stage of The Burgdorff Theater in Maplewood, NJ. We are currently planning to continue this partnership to make Improv Comedy a regular event in Maplewood.
If you have an idea for a show that you would like us to help you bring to the stage, get in touch and we’ll, you know, talk!
